Having lived an adrenalin packed life in the corporate and biological science worlds, when a chronic illness stopped her dead in her tracks, Lou had to find a new way of being.
After navigating her own health journey and coming out the other side of it a a happier, healthier and present human being her direction in life changed. She is now a Tapping and Mindfulness Coach and works one-on-one with individuals and in group workshop settings.
Based on a foundation of learning how to listen to your own intuition and body, Lou specialises in self-care helping people with stress-related symptoms such as anxiety, depression, and other chronic illnesses. Lou is adept at working with patterns such as procrastination, perfectionism, blocks to success in different areas of life, and past trauma, as these are often aspects of the of the struggles you may be experiencing in life now.
Lou is a certified Matrix Reimprinting practitioner and a Level 3 trained Emotional Freedom Techniques Practitioner. She comes from a background of buddhist practice and over 20 years of yoga practice. It was her own health crisis and struggle with chronic stress and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome that lead her down the path of internal exploration and after coming out the other side of it she is grateful for the experience that has brought more depth, colour, love and playfulness to her life.
She has a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology and Zoology and her previous career included working for CSIRO, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, Queensland National Parks and Wildlife and Marine Parks.
She still exercises her interest in physiology, neurobiology and animal behaviour in her current role – only now she applies her understanding to humans (and her dog Kevin – you can follow him here)
In addition to running her own business “Evolve With Lou” she is a Lifeline Telephone Counsellor, and packs organic veggie boxes one day a week.
Lou has a Bachelor of Science (Zoology & Marine Biology) from the University of Queensland, St Lucia with two Dean’s Commendations. This has given her a solid foundation on which to combine scientific research and critical thought with her own life experience and health journey.
Through personal experience of chronic illness, depression, anxiety and trauma Lou has learned self-compassion and how to live a healthy, happy and more fulfilling life. She can help you listen to what your body is trying to tell you and support you in growing through your health journey.
Lou believes in empowering people with tools and understanding that they can use and practice for themselves. She loves nothing more than to see the people that she’s been working with grow and flourish with clarity, confidence and joy.
